Taxco 925 Sterling Silver Ornate Trinket Box with Inlaid Gemstones

Beautiful little handmade 925 Sterling Silver Trinket Box from Taxco Mexico. This little box is handcrafted into the shape of a trunk. It is a hinged box with a latch on the front. (Please see pictures) There are inlaid semi precious cabochons of turquoise, coral and a dark amethyst (?) on each side of the box with the exception of the bottom which is plain sterling with 4 sterling bead shaped feet. The top of the box has 2 larger cut amethyst (?) inlaid stones. This box measures 2 1/2 inches by 1 3/8ths inches. The total weight of the box is 122 grams. This is a really interesting piece, It would not be good as a pill box since there is open work in the design. It would work great for other small things such as rings or earrings.
