    Description

    Antique sterling silver hinged box with the mark “KAA” inside. KAA is believed to be the mark of the Kandyan Arts Association which began in 1882 to revive the work of artisans in the area. The mark designates this piece as being from Sri Lanka.
    The box is beautifully decorated with a peacock on the top and wonderful starburst pattern on the bottom. It is aged with a fabulous patina on it. The inside still retains the brightness of unused silver.
    The box measures approximately 1 3/4” across x 3/4” tall.
